 The afore-mentioned note from the jeweler to the first designer, who I hoped would be able to produce a wax. Unfortunately, after five months communication with the designer tapered off into nothing.

 At one point, I became convinced the problem was essentially one of communication, and carved the design in sculpy. Because I was using what is essentially a subtractive method (an exacto knife and other carving tools) I was unable to cut to depth. Following this, I briefly toyed with rubber molds and beeswax, but wasn't able to produce a satisfactory wax.
